Linderhof was the smallest palace commissioned by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Adorned with gold, the stunning castle is absolutely magnificent. The king's bed chamber is a masterpiece itself, draped with luxurious cloth and extravagant carvings and gold gilt. A tour of Linderhof Palace includes the striking Hall of Mirrors, the King's ornate bedchamber, the Moorish building and the castle's extensive parkland. Also worth a visit is the Grotto of Venus, which was built for the king as an illustration of the First Act of Wagner's "Tannhäuser".
